Minnie
Meserve Soule
trance medium of the American
SPR, known in early experiments under the pseudonym: "Mrs. Chenoweth." For many years Prof.
James Hyslop made interesting tests in cases of obsession with her mediumship. She produced excellent trance phenomena, similar to those of
Mrs. Piper. She was controlled by Imperator and Sunbeam, the spirit of a child. In the publication of the Boston
SPR an interesting record of séances narrates the experiences of Lydia W. Allison, with supplementary material by Dr.
W. F. Prince under the title:
'Leonard and Soule Experiments in Psychical Research', Boston, 1929, while in an earlier work,
Spirit Messages, Rochester, 1914, dedicated to the medium, Prof. Hiram Corson of Cornell University recorded unique communications received through Mrs. Soule, from Browning, Mrs. Browning, Lord Tennyson, H. W. Longfellow, and from many other eminent minds.
