The
Author and the Book
The author started his career as a 'Scientific Officer" at NGTE Whetstone researching problems in Jet propulsion engines but spent the latter part as a university lecturer in the fields of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics. This background, firmly based on the mechanics of Galileo and Newton, provided the ideal conditions for the switch to physics he made upon retirement. This may seem strange but it was from this viewpoint that solutions to problems still bedevilling established physics could be expected.
The difficulties surrounding basic problems seemed so intractable early this century that physicists departed more and more from the dictates of common-sense. This trend was set when Einstein's theories became fashionable and this happened because they gave miraculous predictions which checked out with experiments made at the time, experiments which also showed something was wrong with Newton's laws. A complete, understanding of the universe now seemed within the grasp of physicists.
Unfortunately as time went on it became increasingly difficult to relate Einstein's theory of gravitation to theories of the very small - quantum theory. The author's contribution stemmed from the realisation that minor changes needed to be made to Newton's laws. This not only resolved the problems but something even more exciting emerged -a theory having a spiritual base and predicting that the paranormal has to
exist
